The Somerset Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) is located in Somerset, Pennsylvania, the seat of Somerset County. The SVFD is a 100% volunteer organization responding to approximately 350+ calls per year.

Our department trains extensively and is recognized as having over 50% of our volunteers certified to the level of firefighter 1 or higher, thereby maximizing the level of service you, our citizens, receive.

In addition to responding to fire’s, vehicle accidents and public service calls, we are trained to handle a myriad of other emergencies. Volunteer’s from the SVFD make-up a portion of the Somerset County SCUBA team and the Somerset county HAZ-MAT team, which responds out of our station.
